Cummings Insurance Agency has a long history of providing comprehensive insurance and employee benefits to companies and individuals in northeastern Pennsylvania. In 1993, Michael F. Cummings and his late cousin Tim Cummings combined their talents and expertise to open their own business, and Cummings Insurance Agency was born. Michael was the driving salesforce while Tim handled everything at the office in a partnership that spanned decades.

Tim passed away in 2006. Michael’s sons, Michael J. Cummings and Ryan Cummings, joined the family business shortly after Tim’s passing. Together they carry on the Cummings legacy with the same passion and enthusiasm upon which the agency was founded.

Cummings Insurance Agency operates in Dunmore, PA at their offices on Madison Avenue. Their dedicated team is uniquely positioned to provide the most comprehensive coverage at the most competitive rate. Cummings Insurance Agency offers both personal and commercial insurance, as well as employee benefits and human resource solutions including group health, life, disability, dental, and vision insurance.

Ryan Cummings

Ryan is a graduate of Scranton Preparatory School and Catholic University (Washington, DC) where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He focuses his efforts on Commercial & Personal Insurance. As a Commercial Lines Insurance Risk Manager, Ryan identifies and evaluates risks that are specific to our clients’ businesses. Specific concentrations include but are not limited to: property, liability, workers compensation, professional liability, management liability and bonding. Ryan also overseas/works with all of our carrier partners on the personal lines side of business to provide custom coverage options tailored to fit individual needs. Ryan resides in Dunmore with his dog Hank.

Since 2006, Michael has focused his insurance efforts on brokering and servicing employee benefits clients. He has specifically concentrated on group medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and life insurance for both large and small firms and organizations.

Michael has implemented consumer-directed health insurance strategies and techniques into his clients’ medical plans to save them significant funds. Additionally, he has successfully crafted and managed self-funded plans for both public and private sector clients.

Michael is a graduate of the Scranton Preparatory School and The Catholic University of America. He has earned the designations of Chartered Healthcare Consultant and Registered Health Underwriterfrom the American College.

He serves on the board of directors of Outreach, formerly EOTC, and also on the advisory board of St. Francis Kitchen. He’s an avid golfer and skier. Michael and his wife Andrea reside in the Borough of Dunmore with their three children.

Kenneth joined Cummings Insurance Agency in October 2015, bringing 27+ years of experience in the insurance business. Ken focuses primarily on servicing his employee benefits clients. In addition to group medical, dental, short and long term disability, and life insurance, he is well versed in all Medicare Programs.

Ken is a graduate of Bishop O’Hara High School and The University of Scranton. When not working, Ken can be found playing golf at Elkview Country Club. Ken resides at Crystal Lake, outside the city of Carbondale in Lackawanna County with his wife Denise, and daughter Hayley.
